Tulsi Gabbard is Right and Howard Dean is Wrong

Tulsi > Howie

Tulsi Gabbard is a Democratic Representative in Congress. She is a three term Hawaii congresswoman who has gained a lot of attention on her stance with Syria. Gabbard is demanding answers into obtaining evidence if Bashar al-Assad is responsible for the chemical weapons attack. This attack forced a response from our administration into bombing Syria. Gabbard has always remained against vocal on the politics of Syria. On CNN a year ago, she argued that the United States could make terrorism worse giving them a better position in Syria. She was quoted as saying “the extremists will walk in and take over all of the country of Syria.” She also was against the United States supplying weapons to rebels in Syria.

Tulsi Gabbard has a reasonable and tactful response against the Donald Trump administration and decisions on Syria. She is merely asking for a full investigation before we take military action. She simply believes the United States shouldn’t jump to conclusions when it comes to getting involved in other country’s issues. She said, “This administration has acted recklessly without care or consideration of the dire consequences of the United States attack on Syria without waiting for the collection of evidence from the scene of the chemical poisoning.” Tulsi Gabbard is all for having Bashar al-Assad convicted of war crimes if they are in fact proven. She continued on to say, “It angers and saddens me that President Trump has taken the advice of war hawks and escalated our illegal regime change war to overthrow the Syrian government. This escalation is short-sighted and will lead to more dead civilians, more refugees, the strengthening of al-Qaeda and other terrorists, and a possible nuclear war between the United States and Russia.”

This has brought on some backlash against Gabbard from her own party. Democrats Neera Tanden and Democratic Presidential candidate Howard Dean are going two against one. Howard Dean tweeted that Gabbard was “a disgrace that should not be in Congress.” Howard Dean’s comment makes it seem like he is accusing Gabbard of supporting a dangerous human being like Assad.

Howard Dean is probably most well known for letting out a bizarre scream in 2004 during a speech. He came in a sad third place and lost the nomination to John Kerry. After the election Howard Dean became the DNC chairman. Howard Dean’s comments towards Tulsi Gabbard are reckless and childish. He should take a break from Twitter and focus on helping our country.
